Second, fake photography is endemic. We have all seen listings with gleaming interiors and ensuite bathrooms that look like a five-star hotel. In reality, that photo might have been taken in 2019, during a different tenancy, or it might simply be someone else is property altogether. Brokers do this deliberately during peak season (July and August) when thousands of students are flooding into Delhi simultaneously and have no time to verify.

Third, Facebook groups and WhatsApp chains are supposed to be free and direct — but they are full of brokers in disguise. A post that says "available near Hindu College, AC room, 10k" is often bait.
