We will be direct with you: DUPGS is an early-stage startup. There is no established playbook, no large team to hide behind, and no guarantee that everything will go perfectly. What there is:

Frontend Engineer (Next.js)

We are building the student-facing side of DUPGS — the pages students land on when they Google "PG near Hindu College" or "boys PG in Kamla Nagar." You will own the performance, accessibility, and SEO of these pages. Next.js and Tailwind are already in our stack.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain DUPGS Next.js App Router pages
  • Optimize Core Web Vitals for SEO impact
  • Implement responsive, accessible UI components
  • Work with our SEO team to build content pages that rank
  • Integrate with our headless CMS and listing API

Backend Engineer (Node / MongoDB)

Our backend handles thousands of student searches, listing data, user accounts, and SEO-optimised content pipelines. You will design and scale the APIs and data models that power everything DUPGS does.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain RESTful APIs for web and mobile
  • Manage MongoDB data models for listings, users, and content
  • Build listing submission, verification, and approval workflows
  • Implement caching, search indexing, and performance optimisations

SEO & Content Lead

DUPGS competes on Google. Every area page, every college guide, every blog post needs to rank above Facebook groups and outdated classifieds. You will own our entire SEO strategy — from keyword research to content briefs to internal linking architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the DUPGS SEO strategy
  • Identify and prioritise high-value keyword targets (area + college + budget combinations)
  • Brief, edit, and publish area guides, college pages, and blog posts
  • Own our internal linking architecture and site crawl health
  • Track rankings, organic traffic, and conversion metrics

Requirements

  • Demonstrable SEO experience (technical or content, ideally both)
  • Ability to read analytics and translate data into content decisions
  • Comfort with tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or Semrush
  • Good written English — you will be editing content that represents DUPGS

Student Outreach & Operations

Delhi (on-ground)

DUPGS is only as good as the quality of our listings and the trust students place in us. This role is about building the real-world connections that power our platform — from verifying PGs on the ground to collecting real student feedback to representing DUPGS at college campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Visit and verify PG properties in Kamla Nagar, GTB Nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, and other key areas
  • Collect genuine student reviews and feedback on listed PGs
  • Build relationships with PG owners and property managers in target areas
  • Represent DUPGS at Delhi University campus events and student fairs
  • Coordinate listing quality checks and flag outdated or inaccurate entries

Requirements

  • Based in or willing to commute within Delhi
  • Comfortable talking to PG owners, students, and parents
  • Basic data entry and reporting skills
  • Reliable transport (we cover travel expenses)

A conversation to understand what you are looking for, what DUPGS is actually like to work at, and whether the role is a genuine match. This is as much for you as it is for us.

Take-home exercise

A small, relevant task — not a weeks-long project. If you are an engineer, it might be a small feature build. If you are in SEO or content, it might be a content brief or keyword analysis. We do not do whiteboard interviews.

Offer

If everything goes well, we extend an offer within a week of the exercise review. We move quickly because we know your time is valuable.

We are not looking for a specific personality type or a perfectly polished LinkedIn profile. We are looking for people who care about the problem — students struggling to find decent housing in an opaque market — and who have the skills to contribute to solving it.

You do not need to have previously worked on student housing or real estate. You do not need 5 years of experience in a specific tool. If you are a strong developer, a sharp writer, or a natural communicator who believes in what we are building, send us a message.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the work culture at DUPGS like?
We are a small team that moves fast. There is no bureaucracy, no endless standups, and no bureaucracy disguised as agile. If you have an idea, you can implement it. If something is broken, you fix it. We care about output over process, and about students over metrics.
Is this a remote or in-office role?
Both options are available depending on the role and your location. We have team members working from Delhi and remotely. If you are applying for a technical role, remote is fine as long as you have a reliable internet connection and can join video calls during overlap hours.
Do I need to have prior experience with student housing or real estate?
No. We care more about your ability to build, write, or connect with students than your background in housing. If you are joining as an engineer, you need strong coding skills. If you are joining in SEO or content, you need to understand how content ranks and how students search. Real estate knowledge is a plus, not a requirement.
