We are not a big property portal. We are not a broker.
We are something in between — and we built DUPGS for one reason: because the first time you searched for a PG in Delhi, it was a nightmare, and nobody should have to go through that alone.
Who DUPGS Is For
Most students who find DUPGS share something in common: they are coming to Delhi University from a small town in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, or Rajasthan. They have never been to Delhi before. Their parents cannot afford to travel down and check properties. They do not know the difference between Kamla Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar. They have never negotiated a rent before. They do not know what "advance" means in the context of Delhi rentals, or why brokers charge two months rent as a fee.
That was us, too. DUPGS was built by people who lived through that confusion and decided to make it easier for the next batch of students. Whether you are joining Hindu College, Miranda House, SRCC, or any of the 100+ colleges under DU, you deserve a clear picture of your accommodation options before you arrive in the city.
Parents, too. You are sending your child to a new city. You want to know the area is safe, the PG is genuine, and the rent is fair. DUPGS gives you that transparency — real photos, honest pricing, metro distance from campus, and verified details you can check from home.
The Problem We Actually Tried to Solve
Here is what finding a PG in Delhi actually looked like before DUPGS. You join three or four Facebook groups called "Delhi University PG Search 2025." You scroll through 200 posts, half of which are brokers posting the same property under different names. You find a listing on OLX with a photo that looks like it was taken in 2014. You call the number. The property is "already booked, but we have something similar." That something similar is more expensive and farther from campus.
You find a PG you like. The broker asks for two months rent as a "brokerage fee" on top of the security deposit and first month's rent. You do not know this is negotiable because you have never rented before. You pay it because you do not have a choice and the admission deadline is next week.
DUPGS was built to solve each of these pain points individually. We started by listing every genuine PG we could find near DU campuses — with real photos, accurate rent, and no broker in the middle. We added metro distance so you know exactly how long your commute will take. We built college-specific pages so a student at Keshav Mahavidyalaya in Rohini can find PGs that are actually close to Kirori Mal College, not PGs near Hindu College in North Campus that are useless for them.
We charge property owners a small listing fee to keep the platform running. Students pay nothing. Ever.
What Makes DUPGS Different
Compare this to what you would find on common property portals. They list PGs across India. They have a "Delhi" filter. They show you every PG in Delhi, including areas no DU student has ever lived in, with no information about which college each PG is nearest to. Their business model is advertising — the PGs that pay the most appear at the top. You are not getting the best option. You are getting the option that paid the most to be seen.
DUPGS is different in four specific ways:
- 1DU-only coverage. We do not list PGs in Mumbai, Bangalore, or Pune. Every listing on DUPGS is relevant to a Delhi University student. Browse our complete list of covered areas.
- 2Metro-first distance data. Every listing shows walking distance or travel time to the nearest Delhi Metro station, not just a pin on a map. A PG in Pitampura near the Red Line is very different from one near North Campus on the Yellow Line.
- 3College proximity sorting. You can sort PGs by how close they are to your specific college. A PG that is 1.2 km from Lady Shri Ram College but 4 km from Hindu College will show as more relevant for LSR students than a PG that is technically closer to campus but in the wrong direction.
- 4Honest, unfiltered listings. We show every PG that meets our basic standards, regardless of whether the owner paid for promotion. The PG that best matches your search criteria appears first — not the one that paid the most.
Our Coverage
Delhi University students live in three broad zones, and each one has a very different character and price range.
North Campus
The most popular zone for students from Hindu College, Miranda House, SRCC, Hansraj College, and dozens of other colleges. North Campus areas like Kamla Nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, and Vijay Nagar are densely packed with PG options. Monthly rent for a single room typically ranges from Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 18,000, depending on amenities and distance from the campus gate. Boys and girls PGs are largely in separate blocks in this area.
South Campus
Home to colleges like Indraprastha College for Women, Maitreyi College, and Arya Samaj College. South Campus student housing is scattered across areas like Geeta Colony, Laxmi Nagar, and Krishna Nagar. Prices tend to be slightly lower than North Campus, with single rooms available from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 14,000 per month. The South Campus metro station on the Pink Line makes commuting to North Campus colleges feasible for students whose colleges are there.
Off-Campus (Rohini, Pitampura, and Beyond)
Students from Kirori Mal College, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, and Bhaskaracharya College often end up in Rohini and Pitampura because these areas have newer, cleaner PG accommodation at lower prices than central Delhi. A single room in Rohini can cost as little as Rs. 5,000 per month, though travel time to North Campus via the Red Line Metro is 30-45 minutes each way. For students prioritising budget over commute time, these areas are worth considering — and our Rohini and Pitampura area pages make it easy to compare.
