Every verified PG has 24x7 CCTV surveillance, biometric or gated entry, separate accommodations for boys and girls, and well-lit surroundings. Popular DU areas (Kamla Nagar, North Campus, Satya Niketan) have permanent Delhi Police presence and dense student community density that reinforces safety.
What safety features are mandatory for girls PGs on DUPGS?
Every DUPGS-verified girls PG mandatorily includes: 24x7 CCTV at entry, corridors and common areas; gated entry with keycard or manual access control; resident female warden (not just on-call); 10 or 10:30 pm gate-close policy with emergency protocol for late arrivals; visitor register for guests and family visits; emergency contact system. Any listing missing these does not appear on DUPGS.
Is there a curfew at DU PGs?

What fire safety should I check during a visit?
Confirm: at least 2 exit routes from your floor, visible fire extinguisher on every floor (check the inspection tag — should be within 1 year), functional stairwell lighting (test by turning off lights), no blocked corridors or stairwells, and ideally a smoke detector in common areas. These matter especially in dense low-rise clusters like Mukherjee Nagar and Kamla Nagar where older buildings can have weak fire safety.
